Filezilla and No supported authentication methods available after upgrade

I've been using Filezilla and Pageant together to securely connect to a SFTP server using public-key authentication. This was all good until I upgraded to Filezilla version 3.5.2 and found that when connecting I would see the message:

Error:    Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey,gssapi-with-mic)
Error:    Could not connect to server

The reason is that apparently the new version of Filezilla has changed the way it handles keys, in that it defaults to using keys stored in Putty sessions, rather than that of Pageant.

The first thing I did was go to the Windows registery and deleted the Putty session data at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY. However, this didn't fix the problem. I then went to download the latest version of Pageant, which was 0.61, and voila... it all works again!
